Matthew
28:16-20
Then
the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had
told them to go. When
they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came
to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Mark
16:15-20
He
said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all
creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever
does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany
those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will
speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and
when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they
will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
After
the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he
sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and
preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his
word by the signs that accompanied it.
Acts
1:6-11 Then
they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time
going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He
said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the
Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when
the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth.”
After
he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid
him from their sight. They
were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly
two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,”
they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same
Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the
same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
