Herra on hyvä paimen

Herra on minun paimeneni, ei minulta mitään

puutu. Hän vie minut vihreille niityille, hän

johtaa minut vetten ääreen, siellä saan levätä.

Hän virvoittaa minun sieluni, hän ohjaa minua oikeaa

tietä nimensä kunnian tähden. Vaikka minä kulkisin

pimeässä laaksossa en pelkäisi mitään pahaa, sillä sinä olet

minun kanssani. Sinä suojelet minua kädelläsi, johdatat

paimensauvallasi. Sinä katat minulle pöydän vihollisteni

silmien eteen. Sinä voitelet pääni tuoksuvalla öljyllä, ja

minun maljani on ylitsevuotavainen. Sinun hyvyytesi ja

rakkautesi ympäröi minut kaikkina elämäni päivinä, ja

God´s wonderful nature

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory

His compassion never fail

Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble. They spring up like flowers and wither away;

Course of life

I have written a small book with photos that I have taken and Bible inscriptions. I enclose it in this blog.

COURSE OF LIFE

To memory of my dear parents, Kerttu and Vihtori Vierula. They taught me the word of God since I was a little child.

I got a thought of writing this book when I was sitting beside my mother´s sickbed. I read the Bible to her when she was not able to read herself any more. She liked to look at pictures in small books and was able to read a short text.

There are collections of Bible scriptures in this book that have been encouraging for me in different periods of my life. I hope that they can be helpful and can encourage also many others in their journey of life.

Rakkaiden vanhempieni, Kerttu ja Vihtori Vierulan muistolle, jotka kylvivät minun sydämeeni Jumalan sanan jo lapsena.

Ajatus tämän kirjan kirjoittamiseen tuli kun istuin äitini

sairasvuoteen äärellä ja luin hänelle Raamattua kun hän

ei jaksanut itse enää lukea. Hän katseli mielellään kuvia

pikkukirjasista ja pystyi lukemaan lyhyen tekstin.

Tässä kirjassa on poimintoja Raamatun teksteistä,

jotka ovat rohkaisseet ja lohduttaneet minua elämäni

eri vaiheissa. Toivon, että ne saavat olla avuksi ja

rohkaisuksi monelle tämän elämän matkalla.

evankelisluterilaisen kirkon kirkolliskokouksen

Kirjoitan blogiini Raamatun eri aiheista ennen kaikkea itselleni mutta toivon, että voin olla avuksi jollekin joka lukee tätä.

The Holy Bible

I am reacently retired public heath nurse/midwife, mother of five children, grandmother of nine grandchildren.

I love to read Bible and study it. Usually I read one chapter a day beginning from an Old Testament, one from Psalms and one from a New Testament. I get new strength for my daily life from them.

I have got through the Bible new meaning of life and hope for the future. God speaks even now through His word.

I accepted Jesus in my life when I was fourteen years old. I am not regretted it a day. I have had an interesting, rich life though I have had difficulties also. I am so thankful for God in everything.

Raamattu

Rakastan Raamattua ja tutkin sitä mielelläni. Pyrin lukemaan järjestyksessä luvun päivässä alkaen Vanhasta testamentista, Psalmeista ja Uudesta testamentista. Saan siitä voimaa elämääni päivittäin. Olen saanut sen kautta tarkoituksen ja tulevaisuuden toivon. Jumala puhuu vieläkin sanansa kautta.

Otin Jeesuksen vastaan omaan elämääni 14 vuotiaana. Enkä ole katunut sitä päivääkään. Olen saanut elää mielenkiintoista ja rikasta elämää vaikka välillä on ollut vaikeuksiakin. Olen kaikesta kiitollinen Jumalalle.
